Located in Laojie Village, Hetun Township, Hezhang County, Bijie, Guizhou Province, this project is a key poverty alleviation initiative in Bijie. The project employs an advanced “glycerol esterification” production process that does not use sulfuric acid. This process effectively addresses the high operational hazards and difficult wastewater treatment challenges associated with the traditional “acid-base two-step method.” Not only does it enhance reaction rates and product quality, but it also significantly improves safety in production. The resulting organic wastewater, after being treated by biological methods, meets discharge standards, successfully resolving environmental protection concerns. The project was awarded the Second Prize in the 2022 Annual Case Studies on Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Action by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.
