To deeply study and implement the important remarks made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on new-quality productive forces, on May 11, the Party Committee of China Air Separation held its second centralized (expanded) study session for the Party Committee’s theoretical study group in 2024. The meeting was chaired by Lou Jiangning, Secretary of the Company’s Party Committee and Chairman of the Board, and attended by members of the Company’s Party Committee’s theoretical study group and secretaries of the Party branches.

At the meeting, Lu Qi, Chief Engineer of the company, drew on his in-depth study and implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important remarks on new-quality productivity. Taking generative artificial intelligence (AIGC)—a future industry that is receiving global attention—as a starting point, he delivered a special presentation titled “Exploration and Practice of Reshaping the Fine Chemical Industry through AIGC-Driven Cloud-Edge-End Integration.”

To fully leverage the leading role of Party building and accelerate the development of new-quality productivity, a flag-awarding ceremony was held for the “New-Quality Productivity—Party Member Assault Teams.” Lou Jiangning presented the flags to the five assault teams. The captains of the Party Member Assault Teams engaged in discussions and exchanges, focusing on their assigned projects and the development of new-quality productivity. They emphasized the need to accurately grasp the opportunities and challenges brought about by the new situation, respond proactively, unite and forge ahead, and pursue innovative breakthroughs in both technology and management to empower high-quality development.

Lou Jiangning emphasized the need to thoroughly implement all decisions and deployments made by higher-level Party committees, master core technologies, deepen expertise in our areas of strength, and firmly grasp high-quality development as our primary task. We should closely align our efforts with the company’s resource endowments and distinctive advantages, tailor our strategies to individual enterprises, and accelerate the development of new quality productivity and new competitive advantages. He also put forward opinions in four key areas:

First, we must strengthen our ideological foundation and accurately grasp the rich implications of the new quality of productivity. By identifying the “compass” of this new quality of productivity, we should concentrate our efforts on emerging fields such as intelligentization and digitalization. In new areas—including smart factories, zero-carbon ammonia energy, green and environmentally friendly technologies, development of new industrial parks, and supporting infrastructure—we must seize market opportunities and achieve landmark breakthroughs in air separation technology that serve as exemplary models.

Second, we must promote reform and development, using new impetus from reform to unleash new-quality productive forces. By tapping into this “power source” of new-quality productive forces, we will continue to advance institutional and systemic reforms, optimize and refine employee incentive mechanisms, and stimulate endogenous motivation. We will also expand and strengthen the company’s platform, enhance innovation in management capabilities, continuously boost enterprise strength, and lay a solid foundation for high-quality development.

Third, we must promote scientific and technological innovation and focus on fostering the development of new-quality productive forces. By activating this “main engine” of new-quality productive forces and treating scientific and technological innovation as a core element, we will integrate superior resources, build our own scientific and technological innovation system, strengthen our technology powerhouse matrix, and vigorously promote the practical application and commercialization of scientific and technological achievements. Through science and technology-driven innovation, we will lead comprehensive innovation and continuously enhance the company’s operational efficiency.

Fourth, we must deepen the integration of Party building with business operations, leveraging high-quality Party building to empower new-quality productivity. We should adhere to a systematic approach to Party building, unleash its productive potential, and maximize the value and effectiveness of Party-building efforts. Party member task forces should focus on accelerating the development of new-quality productivity, proactively tackling difficult problems and breaking bottlenecks through leading-edge攻关 initiatives. They should also engage in collaborative Party building across industrial chains, supply chains, and innovation chains, providing strong support for the company’s high-quality development.
