Project Name: Innovative Engineering for the Jinghan Line LNG Gas Storage and Peak-Shaving Station

Lead Organizer: Gas Party Branch, Li Yanpeng

The Jinghan LNG Storage and Peak-Shaving Station Project is a key livelihood project in Hebei Province, designed to regulate and store natural gas supplies for the province. It ensures the safe gas supply to southern Hebei Province, particularly to Shahe City, and enables multi-point gas supply via inter-provincial pipeline networks, thereby enhancing both the capacity and reliability of the pipeline network. As an important full-containment concrete tank project for our company, the project leader took the lead in establishing a Party member task force. All team members stepped forward bravely and successfully developed a technical package for prestressed concrete full-containment tanks, laying a solid foundation for the company to aggressively expand its business in concrete tank storage solutions. Keeping pace with digitalization trends, the project team also innovatively proposed an implementation plan for a smart LNG plant, achieving unattended operation at the plant site and setting a benchmark for smart chemical plants. In December 2023, when a nationwide cold wave struck, frontline personnel braved wind and snow for several consecutive hours, steadfastly remaining on-site for commissioning. Their exemplary performance—demonstrating “optimal organizational efficiency and the brightest Party member role”—set a high standard and made positive contributions to optimizing Hebei Province’s energy structure, improving air quality, and promoting sustainable development in both Hebei Province and Shahe City.

Project Name: Research and Development and Application of 120,000-Cubic-Meter Low-Temperature Prestressed Concrete Storage Tanks

Lead Organizer: Energy Party Branch, Jiang Wei

The project is primarily based on the 120,000-cubic-meter cryogenic propane storage tank planned for Phase V of Rongtai, with this very tank serving as the main platform for research and development. Even during the R&D phase, the project leader took the lead, and numerous “energy pioneer defenders” voluntarily stepped up to tackle the most challenging technical hurdles, providing robust technical support for Rongtai’s Phase V bidding process. Ultimately, the team outperformed top industry giants and successfully won the bid for the Rongtai Storage Tank Area Project (Phase V), securing the company’s largest single contract in recent years. In October 2022, when the project entered the preliminary design stage, the project team hung a banner reading “Work Hard for 30 Days—Celebrate the 20th National Congress,” racing against time and pressing forward relentlessly. As construction kicked off, all team members pressed ahead under tremendous pressure, forming a Party-building alliance with the client to ensure high-quality project advancement. By September 2023, both 120,000-cubic-meter storage tanks had been successfully lifted into place. The project also earned multiple patents, marking a significant breakthrough for the company in transitioning from metal-tank technology to prestressed concrete-tank technology for large-scale cryogenic storage. Moreover, the project has made important contributions to Lianyungang’s efforts to build itself into a world-class petrochemical industrial base and to the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.

Project Name: Practical Breakthrough in Pharmaceutical and Chemical Wastewater Treatment Project

Lead Organizer: Environmental Party Branch, Chen Yunxia

The “Practical Breakthrough in Pharmaceutical and Chemical Wastewater Treatment Projects” project is specifically implemented through the upgrading and connection-to-network project (a PC+O general contracting project) of the wastewater treatment plant at the Jinhua Healthy Bio-Industry Park. As the project team’s leader took on the challenge of undertaking a large-scale wastewater treatment project for a pharmaceutical industrial park for the first time, he led his team members to uphold integrity while fostering innovation, developing an improved Phoredox process package. This approach has significantly boosted the synergy between wastewater treatment, pollution reduction, and carbon emission reduction, successfully opening up a new frontier in the treatment of pharmaceutical and chemical wastewater. Faced with challenges such as tight deadlines and limited time, the project team joined forces with Jin Kai Culture & Tourism to establish a Party-building joint task force. Before the onset of heavy rainfall, the team seized every available moment to accelerate progress, completing a single pour of 2,000 cubic meters of concrete in just over 20 hours—a feat that echoed the rallying cry: “As a Party member, I’ll take the lead; I’ll be the vanguard in overcoming difficulties!” At the start of 2024, the task force promptly held a mobilization meeting, sounding the battle trumpet for the final sprint toward project completion. Today, this modern wastewater treatment plant—now serving as a new benchmark—has established a robust ecological barrier for the park’s sustained green development and has also become a vivid embodiment of the company’s commitment to the “Two Mountains” philosophy.

Project Name: Sea Freight Delivery, Letter of Credit Collection, and Export Tax Rebate for the Pakistan Hydrogen Peroxide Project

Lead Organizer: Chemical Industry Party Branch, Lin Chen

The Pakistan Hydrogen Peroxide Project is the company’s first EP project in the hydrogen peroxide sector. Located within the Port Qasim area of Karachi, Pakistan, along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the project’s client is Pakistan’s largest energy company, the Anglo Group. This project marks the company’s first step toward overseas markets, in response to the call to jointly build the “Belt and Road” initiative. In this regard, the project leader volunteered to take on the challenge and designated three key tasks—marine shipping delivery, collection via letters of credit, and export tax rebates—as priority innovation initiatives for Party members. In 2022, the project team welcomed its first shipment by sea, braving the pandemic and going against the tide. Team members stayed on-site, working alongside workers until late into the night, rushing to meet deadlines and ensure that equipment and materials were loaded onto ships on schedule. In 2023, when news of Pakistan’s financial and fiscal crisis broke, the task force, despite the time difference, kept in close contact with the client, persistently seeking solutions and successfully recovering payment for the goods. Behind each batch of shipments delivered by sea lies a relentless, round-the-clock effort of continuous review and reflection, ensuring that the project progressed steadily. As the client’s project manager put it: “Together, we’ve weathered three years of the pandemic, navigated Pakistan’s financial crisis, witnessed the Russia-Ukraine war, and faced unprecedented challenges. Now, we’re truly ‘iron brothers’!”

Project Name: Integrated Construction of a Project Management Platform

Lead Person: Functional Party Branch, Qiu Xiangxing

Under the wave of digitalization, in response to the company’s increasingly urgent need for refined project management, the functional Party branch has brought together forces from multiple functional departments to tackle the critical research topic of “Integrated Construction of a Project Management Platform.” Taking process reengineering and data integration as key levers, the team is diligently working to build a project management platform that precisely matches the company’s actual business needs. Each challenging task has become a battle-ready organizational unit! During project implementation, Party members have proactively taken on responsibilities ranging from requirements gathering and platform design to development, testing, and ongoing operations and maintenance. They have successfully overcome numerous challenges—including tight deadlines, cross-departmental collaboration, and limited development budgets—while putting into practice the micro-innovation philosophy of “1.01 raised to the power of 365.” By advancing the project step by step, they have vividly demonstrated their sense of responsibility: “Party members take the lead in critical tasks and stand tall at crucial moments!” Currently, the project platform has been officially launched, featuring 29 business processes that cover key project milestones, enforce mandatory upstream-downstream linkages, and facilitate collaborative approvals across departments, as well as 12 automated, interconnected, and unified business databases. The platform plays a vital role in areas such as critical milestone control, supplier development, procurement oversight, and settlement evaluation, thereby supporting the company’s efforts toward digital, refined, and compliant project management. Through data-driven aggregation, the platform empowers the company’s high-quality development.
