The year-end closing season brings good news from the north! 1 2 Moon 27 Today, the Chifeng Yuanjing Zero-Carbon Hydrogen-Ammonia Project undertaken by China Air Separation has achieved new progress. —The metal inner tank of the 20,000 m³ cryogenic liquid ammonia concrete full-containment tank has been successfully installed! This marks another critical milestone for the project following the concrete pouring work on the tank’s dome. It signifies that the main structures of both the inner and outer tanks of the cryogenic liquid ammonia storage tank have now been fully completed, steadily bringing us closer to achieving this year’s construction goals.

The inner metal tank has an inner diameter of 38 meters and a net height of 22.06 meters. It was constructed using the “inverted installation method,” with the wall panels installed in nine concentric rings. Starting from December 3, when the ninth ring of wall panels began to be installed, the inner tank was successfully lowered into place by December 27—a total construction period of just 25 days.

Located in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, the project is currently in the depths of winter, with biting cold winds howling. Recently, the lowest temperature has dropped below minus 15℃. Despite the frigid conditions, the project team has not faltered. Fully leveraging the leading role of Party building, the Party member vanguard team has taken the lead, and all team members have united as one, tackling challenges head-on. To ensure the quality of wall panel welding, the project team has carefully planned and overcome the impact of the low ambient temperature. They’ve installed cotton curtains at large and small doorways to block the wind, opened the ventilation openings on the tank roof, and used six air heaters inside the tank to maintain the internal temperature at 5℃. Celsius Above all, before each daily weld, the weld seams on the plates are preheated, and rigorous safety and quality inspections are conducted throughout the construction process, ultimately ensuring that the inner tank is built to high standards and with superior quality.

Next, the project will enter the construction phase, including welding anchor belts and installing internal nozzles, and will continue to steadily and rapidly advance toward the goal of completing and putting the plant into operation. The project team will always uphold China Air Separation’s mission of “delivering high-quality projects that benefit society,” and contribute to the company’s creation of a new era of high-quality development through the construction of high-standard projects!
