Bustling with work in the spring, good news pours in from the front lines. On April 27, the EPC general contracting project for the 70,000 Nm³/h centralized air separation and compressed air unit at Fujian Fuhai Chuang, undertaken by China Air Separation Engineering Co., Ltd. (referred to as “China Air Separation”), successfully achieved the first-time connection and energization of the 10 kV standby power supply. The completion of this critical milestone marks the project’s smooth transition from the equipment installation phase to the comprehensive commissioning phase, signaling the start of an all-out sprint toward trial operation and commercial production.
Party Members Tackle Tough Challenges to Safeguard the “Lifeline”

The 10 kV backup power supply is the “lifeline” of project commissioning. The provision of stable, reliable, and continuous power supply plays a crucial role in advancing the next phase of the project. In response, China Air Separation has meticulously planned and coordinated with all stakeholders, promptly establishing the “High-Voltage Power Reception Party Member Task Force.” Leading party members have taken the forefront, stationing themselves on-site for several consecutive days and spearheading three rounds of comprehensive, grid-style inspections. From protection logic and switchgear operations to painstakingly verifying wiring late into the night in the distribution room, the project team has upheld the spirit of overcoming challenges and securing victory, rigorously confirming every single step to fully safeguard this critical “lifeline.”
Decisive battle, successful power reception

Prior to energization, the project team worked in close coordination, entering a full-scale, decisive phase well ahead of schedule. Through meticulous refinement of plans and comprehensive contingency preparations, they successfully completed all prerequisite tasks, including cable laying, commissioning of 33 high-voltage switchgear panels, setting of protection relay settings, and insulation testing of circuit loops. On the day of energization, upon issuance of the dispatch command, operators followed standardized procedures to perform switching operations—closing switches, verifying phase alignment, and conducting loaded tests—all in one seamless sequence. Voltage and current parameters met all specifications, and all systems operated smoothly—marking a successful first-time energization!

The Fuhai Chuang Central Air Separation and Air Compression Project commenced construction in April 2025, completed the concrete pouring for the cold-box foundation in July, and achieved the hoisting and capping of the cold box in October. The successful energization this time has provided a reliable guarantee for the commissioning of critical equipment, thereby advancing the project steadily.

Moving forward, China Air Separation will leverage its strengths in value-creating services across the entire project lifecycle to drive the FuhaiChuang project—with high standards and superior quality—toward the final stages of individual equipment commissioning, integrated commissioning, and overall handover, ensuring early commissioning and optimal performance. The company is committed to delivering a world-class project and contributing the strength of a central state-owned enterprise to advancing the Gulei Petrochemical Base on a new journey toward high-end, green, and intensive development.
