Firmly Focused on Our Goals, Moving Forward Together: China Air Separation Holds the 2024 Mid-Year Business Meeting and Celebration of the 103rd Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China

On July 19, China Air Separation Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “China Air Separation”) held its 2024 Mid-Year Business Meeting and a rally celebrating the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Members of the company’s leadership team, chief assistants, mid-level managers, all Party members, outstanding individuals recognized for their achievements, and employee representatives attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Shang Jianbing, a member of the company’s Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission.

At the 2024 Mid-Year Business Meeting held in the morning, Company General Manager Xu Xianghui first conveyed the spirit of the SuMeida and China SPD’s 2024 Mid-Year Meetings, and then delivered a mid-year business work report. The report summarized the company’s key achievements in the first half of the year, analyzed the major challenges and issues currently faced, and outlined the key tasks for the second half of the year.

In the first half of 2024, the company’s management team adhered to the guiding principles of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Central Economic Work Conference. They upheld the working principle of “firm confidence, overcoming difficulties, and promoting stability through progress,” as well as the overarching tone of “seeking progress while maintaining stability, using progress to promote stability, and establishing new foundations before dismantling old ones.” Faced with a severe, complex, and ever-changing domestic and international economic landscape, the team took the initiative, rose to challenges head-on, seized opportunities, remained firmly committed to achieving the annual work targets, maintained unwavering efforts in traditional businesses, expanded into emerging fields to boost growth momentum, focused on technological innovation to continuously enhance core competitiveness, and constantly refined and improved the precision and granularity of operational management. Despite the unfavorable external environment, the company managed to stabilize its fundamental development trajectory effectively and laid a solid foundation for high-quality development.
In the second half of 2024, we must fully focus on four key operational priorities:
1. Focus on market development and enhance the effectiveness of project tracking. We must concentrate on our traditional core businesses, converting tracked project resources into newly signed project successes, and building up a pipeline of larger-scale, high-quality projects to solidify the company’s foundation for sustainable growth.
2. Focus on technological innovation and expand into new fields and markets. We must enhance the core competitiveness of our traditional businesses, make strong inroads into new sectors and business models, strengthen the strategic layout of industrial chains, and improve the capacity for balanced regional development across all business segments.
3. Focus on project execution and ensure that “every bit is accounted for.” We must strengthen management of ongoing projects, enhance analysis and assessment of key projects, step up resource allocation and support for projects already under implementation, and closely monitor project collections and payroll settlements.
4. Focus on internal control management and enhance the scientific and standardized nature of management. We must strengthen the construction of the internal control system, continuously refine and improve internal control measures, intensify the identification of risks and hidden dangers at each stage, and continually elevate the precision, scientific rigor, and standardization of the entire business management process.
At the meeting, Ding Chuanqi, Deputy General Manager of the Gas Engineering Company, Hu Zhongjie, Deputy General Manager of the Energy Engineering Company, Liu Ce, Deputy General Manager of the Environmental Engineering Company, and Wang Hongwei, Deputy General Manager of the Chemical Engineering Company, each representing their respective business divisions, summarized the work performed in the first half of the year and presented plans for the second half.

At the celebration conference held in the afternoon to mark the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, a showcase of the “Party Member Innovation Project” was held on-site to further promote the deep integration of Party building and business operations and to assess the effectiveness of the project’s implementation. Through “showcasing achievements and highlighting results,” party members fully demonstrated the implementation measures of the “Party Member Innovation Project” and the tangible benefits it has brought to business performance. This made the principle—“each branch is a fortress, each party member a banner”—even more vivid and three-dimensional, continuously generating new momentum for development.

Based on the combined results of online exhibition, external expert review, and on-site evaluation, the Chemical Industry Party Branch’s project “Sea Freight Delivery for Pakistan Hydrogen Peroxide Project, Collection via Letter of Credit, and Export Tax Rebate” won first prize; the Gas Party Branch’s project “Innovative Engineering for LNG Storage and Peak-Shaving Station on the Beijing-Han Line” won second prize; the Energy Party Branch’s project “Research and Application of 120,000-Cubic-Meter Low-Temperature Prestressed Concrete Storage Tanks” won third prize; and the Environmental Party Branch’s project “Practical Breakthrough in Pharmaceutical and Chemical Wastewater Treatment Project” and the Functional Party Branch’s project “Integrated Construction of a Project Management Platform” both received Excellence Awards.

The conference also recognized the advanced Party branches, outstanding Communist Party members, and outstanding Party workers of the Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, China Pudong Development Bank, and the company’s Party Committee for the 2022-2023 period.

Finally, Lou Jiangning, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board, delivered a concluding speech. Lou Jiangning first extended warm congratulations to the winners of the “Two Excellences and One Pioneer” awards and those honored in the “Party Member Innovation Project” showcase.

Lou Jiangning pointed out that since 2024, all cadres and employees have worked together with one heart, overcome difficulties, and jointly strived toward the annual goals. We must continue to remain confident and united in our efforts, seize opportunities, make breakthroughs, and drive the company toward high-quality development.
Regarding the next steps, Lou Jiangning put forward four requirements:
First, we must remain steadfast in our strategic goals. We need to consistently uphold the company’s “14th Five-Year Plan” strategic objectives, vigorously promote reform and development, maintain confidence, identify problems accurately, launch all-out efforts, and strive to catch up.
Second, we must persist in making efforts in the right direction. We should continue to take technology and craftsmanship as our guiding principles, focus on EPC engineering as our core business, expand the company’s size and scale, and at the same time strengthen our consulting, management, and operation & maintenance service capabilities, thereby boosting per capita output and asset efficiency.
Third, we must squarely face problems, tackle tough challenges, and achieve victory. We need to directly address key issues—such as technological innovation and enhancing operational capabilities—that have a significant impact on the company’s development. With firm confidence, we must rise to the occasion, steadily break through barriers, and make every effort to resolve these challenges.
Fourth, we must put great effort into building a positive, upward-looking, and trust-based organization. We need to harness the collective strength of the company as a whole, leverage the collaborative capabilities of each team, foster mutual trust, cooperation, and synergy, and work together to overcome challenges and achieve victory.
Lou Jiangning emphasized that in the second half of the year, we should focus on the following three areas of work:
First, we must elevate our perspective, unify our thinking, and deliver a high-quality “political answer.” We should emphasize political awareness, study theory diligently, and focus on practical implementation, always remaining politically “clear-headed,” ideologically “committed followers,” and pioneers in reform and development.
Second, we must build core competitiveness and win a broad market. By focusing on customer needs, staying closely aligned with market demands, and leveraging our traditional technological strengths, we can assemble multiple “strengths” to enhance our core competitiveness and ensure our success in the marketplace.
Third, we must face challenges head-on, seize opportunities, and achieve greater development. We should be proactive and take the initiative to confront difficulties and challenges, making every effort to overcome them. With unity and a commitment to seeking truth from facts, we will help the company step onto a new and even larger platform for development.
Those who act consistently succeed, and those who persevere always reach their goals. The whistle for the “second half” of 2024 has already sounded. Let us carry forward our struggle with an even more tenacious work ethic, forge ahead with unwavering determination, and ensure that we achieve our annual targets and tasks. Let us embrace a more vigorous fighting spirit to pioneer innovation, pursue practical results with earnest effort, and continuously enhance our core competitiveness.
