This year marks the concluding year of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the year of strategic preparation for the 15th Five-Year Plan. In this pivotal campaign that bridges the past and the future, the Party Committee of China Air Separation has strengthened Party building leadership and extensively established Party member task forces. A large number of Party members have taken the lead in striving to be vanguard fighters capable of securing victory. On the main battlefields—such as tackling key projects, achieving breakthroughs in critical technologies, and translating innovative achievements into practical applications—they have openly displayed their identities, made clear commitments, and demonstrated concrete actions, ensuring that the “two banners” fly high and proudly.
Starting today, we’re specially launching... Let the lens enter the frontline of air separation. A series of reports offering a panoramic, front-line perspective—directly capturing the most passionate scenes of struggle from one party-member assault teams after another! The first installment is titled “Tackling Production Challenges—Pioneers Take the Lead!”
Tackling the Northwest Desert | The Tahe Project Successfully Comes on Stream

On June 5, the EPC project for the No. 2 Nitrogen Production Plant in Tahe, constructed by China Air Separation, was officially and successfully put into operation after nine months of intensive construction and commissioning. The project adopts internationally advanced deep-cold air separation technology for nitrogen production, with a designed nitrogen production capacity of 600,000 cubic meters per day and a nitrogen purity as high as 99.99%. Since going into operation, the equipment has been running smoothly, and both the product output and purity have met the design specifications. The nitrogen has been smoothly delivered via pipeline to downstream users, providing crucial support for boosting oilfield production and efficiency.
Forge ahead with determination and drive project development.

As one of the key projects of the Northwest Oilfield, this project has had a Party member task force established since its launch in September 2024. Facing challenges such as harsh weather conditions, tight construction schedules, and high technical requirements, the Party members in the task force have taken the lead by setting an example and charging ahead, guiding the project team to systematically conduct construction simulations, integrate the “Five Modernizations” construction philosophy, and intensify technological problem-solving efforts. They have overcome numerous difficulties—including equipment installation and process debugging—and are steadily advancing the project’s construction.
Working around the clock to fully ensure production launch.

Located deep in the northwest Xinjiang desert, surrounded by vast seas of sand, the Party member task force has remained firmly committed to the core goal of “Five Modernizations.” Facing the dual challenges of an extreme natural environment and complex technical difficulties, they have consistently taken the lead and stayed on the front lines of construction. To ensure the smooth commissioning of the project, key Party members led the construction team into a round-the-clock, non-stop working mode. Just 18 days after power was connected, they successfully produced nitrogen gas, achieving the project’s high-standard commissioning target with exceptional efficiency and execution.

After the project goes into operation, it will establish a stable, high-purity nitrogen supply system for Zones 10 and 12 of the Tahe Oilfield. This not only significantly reduces block development costs but also achieves the dual goal of lowering energy consumption and carbon emissions by revolutionizing the traditional decentralized nitrogen production model, thereby setting a new green and efficient benchmark in the field of enhanced oil recovery within the petrochemical industry.

Next, the project team will focus on intelligent operations and maintenance. By implementing real-time monitoring and dynamic adjustments, they will ensure the nitrogen generation system operates efficiently and sustainably over the long term. Additionally, they will explore synergistic optimization with other production stages in the oilfield, injecting new momentum into the Northwest Oilfield’s strategy to achieve a production capacity of 10 million tons of oil and gas.
Under the lens, the Party member assault teams fight tirelessly, never fearing high mountains or distant waters. Thousands of kilometers away, standing tall are hearts glowing red with original aspirations, heavy burdens of responsibility—and, above all, exemplary projects and a sterling reputation for China Air Separation.
