On the afternoon of March 17, Jörg de la Motte, CEO of the German HIMA Group, and his delegation visited CNASEC Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “CNASEC”) for business exchanges and strategic cooperation. Zhou Yao, General Manager of HIMA (Shanghai) Industrial Automation Co., Ltd., also attended the visit and participated in the discussions. Xu Xianghui, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of CNASEC, extended a warm welcome to Jörg and his delegation, with Zhang Xingdong, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager, among others, taking part in the exchange.

Mr. Jörg and his delegation first toured model representations of typical projects across CNASEC’s various business segments, gaining an understanding of the relevant business areas and the operational principles of the associated equipment.

During the exchange meeting, Xu Xianghui extended a warm welcome to Jörg and his delegation, and provided an overview of CNASEC’s business footprint and key strategic priorities. He emphasized that HIMA Group, as a global leader in functional safety solutions, is steadfastly committed to delivering end-to-end, full-lifecycle professional services to its customers, and has achieved remarkable results in both the functional safety domain and its global expansion. As a member of the SINOMACH Group, CNASEC is closely aligned with the national drive toward green and smart development, accelerating the application and commercialization of digital technologies in engineering projects, building differentiated core competencies, and actively promoting the integrated advancement of technological innovation and industrial innovation to higher levels. He expressed the hope that, taking this exchange as an opportunity, the two parties will jointly explore new avenues for cooperation during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, collaborate to develop markets in the digital space, and work together to advance green and sustainable development.

Jörg outlined HIMA’s century-old legacy of safety-oriented corporate culture, its global expansion journey, and its key business development areas. He noted that CNASEC has consistently focused on specialized niche markets, accumulating extensive experience in EPC turnkey projects. He expressed the hope that the two companies would leverage their respective strengths in the process industries to deepen collaboration in safety, engineering, and digitalization, thereby achieving complementary advantages and mutually beneficial outcomes. Zhou Yao then highlighted HIMA Group’s strategic direction and business footprint since entering the Chinese market.

Currently, digital transformation has become a widely shared consensus across the industry. In this context, the two parties engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as leveraging digital technologies to empower the transformation of smart factories. Zhou Fenghua, Director of the CNASEC Institute for Digitalization and Intelligent Technologies, highlighted the institute’s achievements in intelligent development and shared a comprehensive smart-factory solution tailored for the process industries.

In the presence of all attendees, Xu Xianghui and Jörg signed a strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of their respective organizations, marking the beginning of a new chapter of win-win collaboration. Under the impetus of the digital transformation wave, the two parties will forge a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership, deepen cooperation in the field of intelligent air separation, jointly leverage cutting-edge technologies to build a robust safety assurance system for air separation operations, and drive profound transformation in operational models across the process industries.

This collaboration comes at an opportune moment, as Sino-German economic and trade cooperation continues to deepen in the wake of German Chancellor Merz’s visit to China. With CNASEC Group based in the innovation-driven city of Hangzhou joining forces with the renowned German HIMA Group, this partnership represents a vivid demonstration of deepened industrial collaboration between Chinese and German enterprises. It also marks an important exploration—using digitalization in the process industries as a strategic entry point—to unlock new pathways for enhancing industry safety and intelligence, while injecting fresh momentum into Sino-German collaborative innovation.

Cao Zhongyuan, Deputy General Manager of Xima (Shanghai) Industrial Automation Co., Ltd., and Jiang Xuelian, Director of Marketing; Li Yanpeng and Xu Fengjie, Deputy General Managers of CNASEC Gas Engineering Company, attended the exchange meeting.
