Recently, the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association officially announced the list of high-quality projects in the nonferrous metals industry for 2025. The oxygen-generation station project under the relocation initiative of the Southwest Copper Branch of Yunnan Copper Co., Ltd., undertaken as a joint EPC contract by CNASEC(hereinafter referred to as “CNASEC”) and Yingde Gas Engineering (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd., was successfully selected. This recognition fully affirms CNASEC’s deep commitment to the air separation sector and its robust technological capabilities, providing strong momentum for the company to further advance technological innovation and deliver premium engineering projects during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.

The China Nonferrous Metals Industry Quality Project, organized and evaluated by the National Supervision Station for Construction Quality of the Nonferrous Metals Industry, represents the highest standard of quality in nonferrous metals engineering. The winning projects feature cutting-edge design and outstanding construction quality, all being exemplary works completed within the past two years. Following a rigorous review process, 20 projects—comprising a total of 37 sub‑projects—were selected as the 2025 China Nonferrous Metals Industry Quality Projects. The oxygen‑production plant project, under the EPC contract awarded to the CNASEC–Yingde Joint Venture, was recognized as an important sub‑project of the relocation initiative for the Southwest Copper Branch of Yunnan Copper Co., Ltd., thereby earning this industry’s highest honor.

The Southwest Copper Industry relocation project’s 66,000 Nm³/h air separation unit EPC general contracting project officially commenced in June 2023 and was successfully commissioned in August 2024, making it the largest‑scale and most‑adapted air separation benchmark project in China’s nonferrous metals industry.CNASEC has fully demonstrated the responsibility and commitment of a central state‑owned enterprise, leveraging its cutting‑edge technologies and robust engineering capabilities, deeply integrating core smart‑factory modules, and meticulously delivering a high‑quality air separation solution tailored for plateau environments, thereby showcasing the exceptional standards of a premium engineering project across the board.
Upholding the responsibilities of a central state-owned enterprise, we are setting a benchmark for air separation on the plateau.
Located at a high altitude, the project presents construction challenges comparable to those of an 80,000‑ton‑per‑day large‑scale air separation unit in a plain‑land setting. Confronted with exceptionally demanding site conditions,CNASEC has risen to the occasion as a state‑owned enterprise, guided by the principle “Build one project, erect a lasting monument.” Leveraging its core technological strengths in the EPC contracting of ultra‑large air separation units, the company has tackled multiple hurdles—including high‑altitude operations and rainy‑season construction—while its Party-member leaders issued formal commitments and mobilized all personnel to ensure the timely commissioning of oxygen production. The project has set a benchmark for air separation facilities on the plateau, showcasing the robust capabilities of a leading state‑owned enterprise.
Building an intelligent matrix to spearhead a revolution in autonomous operations.
CNASEC takes intelligentization as its core engine, building an end-to-end smart control matrix and innovatively deploying four key systems—One-Click Start/Stop, APC advanced process control, operational navigation, and an automated filling system. These solutions significantly streamline operating procedures, elevate the level of plant intelligence, fortify safety safeguards, and lay a milestone‑level foundation for unmanned operation, propelling large air separation units into a new era of autonomous, high‑efficiency performance and ushering in a new chapter of smart‑technology‑driven innovation.
Upholding stringent quality and safety standards, earning widespread industry recognition.
As a critical front‑end unit in the copper smelting process, this project has provided robust support for Southwest Copper’s relocation and laid a solid foundation for industrial upgrading. Throughout construction,CNASEC maintained rigorous quality and safety standards; several key works—including the installation of liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen storage tanks and the construction of circulating water pools—were recognized as model projects. The company also served as a premier demonstration site for quality inspections, securing first place in the SOP on‑site observation competition. Additionally, it excelled in safety and quality benchmarking events and safety‑diagnosis exercises, consistently ranking at the top and earning numerous accolades. With its outstanding performance,CNASEC has exemplified the exemplary standards of a central state‑owned enterprise, garnering widespread acclaim from both within and outside the industry.
CNASEC has consistently anchored itself to the goal of becoming a first‑class, technology‑driven engineering company in China. Upholding its responsibilities as a central state‑owned enterprise, it implements the national energy development strategy, leverages technological innovation to drive high‑quality project delivery, and delivers value‑creating services across the entire project lifecycle, thereby contributing the strength of a central SOE to the high‑quality, sustainable development of the nonferrous metals industry.
